Programs & Curriculum
A Bright Beginning
At Bright Start School and Daycare, we are committed to ensuring that all children have the opportunity to develop the necessary skills for them to be successful when they enter elementary school. We proudly use the Episcopal Children’s Services approved curriculums for our learners. The curriculums we use are developmentally appropriate for all age groups at our facility and promote character development, literacy, math and science skills, and art. You can read more about them below. Each curriculum provides a variety of experiences so your child can grow intellectually as well as socially. These exciting programs will prepare your child for kindergarten and beyond. You can learn more about the Episcopal Children’s Services programs by visiting their website by clicking here.

Our Programs
Our center uses the HighScope curriculum for infants, toddlers, and preschool aged children. The HighScope curriculum utilizes the active learning approach while instilling a feeling of safety and support for children while encouraging trust. This curriculum promotes learning with their whole body and all of their senses. You can learn more about their curriculum by clicking here.
HighReach Learning®. HighReach learning is a developmentally appropriate curriculum that ensures that children become eager learners. This high-quality early childhood education curriculum provides many opportunities for fun, active exploration and creating powerful interactions with learning in mind.
Character Critters is an exciting way to teach kids how to be kind, polite, and compassionate towards others. We implement character development regularly to help children develop important values.
To promote early literacy skills, we have implemented a daily routine at our daycare facility in which children are engaged in a variety of researched-based best practices. We believe that early exposure to reading and writing will help children not only have a head start in elementary school, but will set them up for long-term success and build their confidence. Additionally, we encourage all parents to read with their children daily.
Every day, our educators help your child grow and learn while catering to their natural curiosity. We have a wide range of learning activities that will engage your child in math and science skills that will help them be successful and confident when they begin elementary school. We make learning science and math fun by offering engaging hands-on activities throughout the year.
Children at our facility love to create artwork! We encourage creativity and expression for all of our learners. Artwork is displayed around the facility so that children can see their work daily. Allowing kids to explore art in such an expressive manner helps them learn how to express themselves in new ways. Our goal is for every child to feel confident and proud of what they can do with paint, markers, crayons, or any other art supplies we have available.

Caring for your children
If you are visiting us today, please be aware that we ask our parents and family members to remain in the common areas of the center only. We will bring your child to their classroom when you drop them off and bring them to you it is time to go home.
Maintaining a healthy environment is important for students and teachers. It means rigorous cleanliness, such as frequent hand washing and sanitizing of surfaces in classrooms and items used at our facility. We clean and disinfect with child-safe products.
Regular wellness checks are conducted throughout the day to keep kids healthy and prevent illnesses from spreading. If a child is found unwell, parents will be contacted for immediate pick-up.
We take extra precautions to make sure children have a safe and healthy dining experience. Our staff uses safe handling practices when preparing meals as well as enhanced cleaning practices.
Children are required to wear seat belts and use age-appropriate car seats/booster seats while traveling in our facilities van during transporting to and from local elementary schools. We also request that children wear masks to help prevent the spread of germs.
Infants, toddlers, and 2-year-olds are given primary caregivers at this preschool so they can get constant attention from teachers who have strong bonds with them throughout their years here. In addition, diaper changes will occur at regular intervals and as needed.
Teachers continually conduct regular checks to ensure that all children are safe and resting comfortably. To further enhance their safety, age-appropriate bedding is used as well as lights being turned on when napping occurs at any point throughout the day. The use of these practices will help provide a better environment where children can rest peacefully. Teachers have visual contact with each individual child and are actively listening during naptime.
Emergency and evacuation supplies are in every classroom and our facility. Our staff is trained to respond to emergency situations as required by the State of Florida. We also abide by rigid guidelines for ratios to guarantee direct supervision of children at all times.
We are committed to keeping the children safe, as we disinfect toys and look for broken pieces or loose parts. We also inspect them for choking hazards. Our playground is also regularly inspected for safety and a fence surrounds outside play areas.
We have cameras located throughout our facility that are monitored by our staff to ensure the safety of your child. We do not have a system installed for parents to view inside our facility at this time.
